WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT AIN'T

Blunt Talk is a private, cannabis-friendly space for African American men to speak freely, connect, and organize around what matters most, mental health, fatherhood, leadership, and legacy. Nothing’s off the table, and everything is real.

We are not an inclusion group. We are not for POC. This space is built on African American culture for our healing, our power, and our future.

We don’t answer to nonprofits or city government. No red tape, no watered down messaging, no outside agendas. Just real strategy and truth.

This is bigger than conversation. When 50 or more of us vote together, we shift power. In Rhode Island, that unity flips elections and decides who gets to lead and why.

If you don’t identify as an African American man, this space is not for you.

Why Should You Join

  • The $10 million Providence Reparations Fund was meant to close the racial wealth gap, but a large portion went to nonprofits with no direct ties to African American interests. Look up Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council as one example
  • Rhode Island has a long track record of underfunding programs meant for African American families, leaving us without the resources to grow or build stability
  • Local leaders love photo ops but won’t pass the policies we actually need
  • Blunt Talk brings us together to plan, support each other, and demand what we deserve, no begging, just strategy

Blunt Talk Voting

We are building a unified voting force of African American men to shift power in Rhode Island. No noise, just strategy. When we move together, we change the outcome.

Why Blunt Talk Changes the Power Structure in Rhode Island:

  • Small Elections, Big Impact: Most local races are won by fewer than 500 votes. A block of 50 to 100 African American men can decide outcomes
  • No Outside Control: We’re not tied to grants or city agendas. We move on our own terms
  • Shared Cultural Values: We vote based on our needs, not parties. That forces politicians to approach us with respect or get ignored
  • Consistent Mobilization: We don’t just show up during election season. We stay organized year round
  • Political Leverage: Unified voting lets us push issues like education, policing, and funding the way we decide
  • Real Accountability: Leaders won’t assume our support. They’ll have to earn it with action, not words

Blunt Talk returns in October 2025.

With everything happening around us, African American men can’t afford to stay disconnected. Blunt Talk is more than conversation, it’s protection, strategy, and power. We come together before it’s too late, because nobody’s coming to save us.

Stay dangerous!

A Message from the Founder, Life Coach Andre Wright

I started Blunt Talk because I got tired of watching puppets get handed leadership roles in the African American community by the same people who benefit from keeping us quiet and controlled. I got tired of watching African American men in Rhode Island suffer in silence while everybody acts like everything is good. We’re not good. We’re carrying too much. Pressure, trauma, confusion, anger, all of it. And everywhere we turn, it’s either people trying to fix us or people trying to use us.

This space was made to impress nobody. It’s not about healing circles or being politically correct. It’s about creating a space where we can speak freely, without a mask, in front of an audience, and without fear of being misunderstood. I’m not here to be liked. I’m here to tell the truth.

Our mental health matters. Our leadership matters. And most importantly, our vote matters. But right now, nobody’s pulling those things together in a real way. Blunt Talk does. We talk about life. We talk about pressure. We talk about strategy. We’re not just trying to feel better. We’re trying to move smarter.

This is not for everybody. It’s not inclusive. It’s not open to interpretation. It’s for African American men, and if that bothers people, that’s proof of why it’s needed.
